Ugli Fruit

Would you be green
if I picked a tangerine?

Would you be yellow
if you caught me with a pomelo?

Would you to care to kiss the nape
of the neck of a grape?

Or would you prefer
to grapple an apple?

Or dawdle and sample
a chickoo or two?

Another week till Spring
drops off into rot.

Remember, some day
they'll all taste the same,
and that some fruits
are ugli only in name
